While my stay at Hotel Divisamar in Manuel Antonio featured beautifully landscaped surroundings and a clean room, I encountered various challenges. The staff was friendly and spoke clear English, which was a huge plus. However, the hotel did not meet some of the advertised amenities, and I had some security concerns during my visit.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and well-maintained. it had a mini-fridge, but the water pressure in the shower was not great. When the air conditioning failed, the owner quickly moved me to a better room at the same rate, which I appreciated.
Service
8.0
The service was nice and welcoming. the staff greeted us with some humor, making my experience more enjoyable. They were always helpful despite my poor Spanish.
Location
7.0
The location could not have been more perfect. I loved that the bus stopped right in front of the hotel, and I was within walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shops. It felt safe during the day, though I had some concerns about the area at night.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was okay. it consisted of rice, beans, toast, and juice. I was hoping for a bit more variety, but it was still a decent way to start the day.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had a sparkling clean pool, but I only saw a few families using it. The facilities were basic and could use some upkeep.

I stumbled upon Hotel Divisamar on a last-minute hotel switch, and I was pleasantly greeted by the friendly owners, Big Al and Little Al. While the room was clean and the air conditioning efficient, I did encounter some issues with the bathroom cleanliness and the pool condition. Overall, the location is handy with cheap bus access to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio, making it a decent stay for the price.

Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was clean and had good AC, but the bathroom had some cleanliness issues.

The owners were warm and helpful, offering good advice and a decent rate, but I did find some staff could have been more attentive.
Location
8.0
The hotel is ideally located with easy, affordable bus access to Manuel Antonio and Quepos.
Dining

The continental breakfast included basic fare like fruit and bread, but I wished there were more options.
Facilities

While the grounds are well-kept, the pool was a disappointment with its murky water and lack of maintenance.

I stayed at Hotel Divisamar for three nights. The owner was incredibly helpful, providing me with loads of information to navigate around easily. The hotel itself is a bit older but well-maintained and clean. I found the breakfast a little late for my early adventures, which required me to seek food elsewhere in the mornings.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were comfortable but small, with a slight aroma of mold that was masked by deodorizing spray.
Service
7.0
The staff were always pleasant and attentive, although breakfast service took quite a while to arrive.
Location
8.0
The location was ideal, with a bus stop right out front for easy access to Manuel Antonio and Quepos, plus several restaurants within walking distance.
Dining
6.0
The continental breakfast was nice, offering fruit, bread, and coffee. but I would have preferred it to start earlier than 7:30.
Facilities

The pool was clean and beautifully landscaped, but it lacked lighting at night, making it a bit hazardous with fallen leaves around.

6.8/10

My stay at Hotel Divisamar had its ups and downs. While I appreciated the clean rooms and handy location near restaurants and the bus stop, I was disappointed with the service and amenities. The breakfast options were quite limited, and I felt the overall vibe of the hotel was more like a basic pension than a true boutique experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean and well-maintained, although a/c issues arose during my stay. It wasn’t anything fancy but comfortable enough.
Service
5.0
The service was hit or miss; some staff were friendly, but I found them generally unhelpful when it came to booking and navigating options.
Location
8.0
The location was great! It was right by the bus stop for easy access to Manuel Antonio National Park and there were plenty of good eateries nearby.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was pretty basic—a few slices of toast and fruit. It didn’t really set me up for the day as I hoped.
Facilities
5.0
Many areas felt neglected, like the pool which wasn’t well-maintained. The hotel had potential but lacks the facilities expected for the price.

I had a mix of experiences at Hotel Divisamar. While the location was fantastic, right near restaurants and the bus stop, I faced some issues with the rooms and breakfast. The hotel has a very welcoming feel, and the staff did their best to accommodate us, but there were shortcomings that detracted from the stay.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and well-maintained, although I had some trouble with the air conditioning in one room due to a power surge. The hotel offered to move me to a better room at no extra charge, which was much appreciated.
Service
6.0
The service was courteous, but I felt that the staff sometimes seemed overwhelmed. They did try to help when my air conditioning failed, but I wished for a bit more assistance with local transport options.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was perfect, close to numerous dining options and just a short distance from Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. The convenience of having a bus stop right outside made exploring very easy.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast provided a voucher for a nearby restaurant which was convenient, but it was quite basic. I would have liked a few more options and a bit earlier service to avoid the lines for the national park.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent overall, with a clean swimming pool, although I didn't spend much time there given my plans. I did notice the pool area was nicely maintained.
